About Me
I’ve always had a deep interest in complementary therapies, especially in how they can support both physical and emotional well-being. Reflexology became part of my life when I began exploring ways to care for my children through common childhood illnesses. I discovered a wonderful book — Healing Touch for Children by Mary Atkinson — and it offered simple, effective techniques for easing things like headaches, sinus congestion, and coughs. That was the spark that led me to where I am today.
In 2019, I completed my Reflexology Diploma at the West Shires School of Complementary Health. I loved the course, particularly doing my case studies, and felt deeply inspired to continue this journey. I launched Shropshire Hills Reflexology in 2020, offering mobile treatments — something I continue to do today, as I haven’t yet set up a fixed treatment room.
My Training & Specialisms
Since qualifying, I’ve continued to build on my skills and specialise further:
- Maternity Reflexology
In April 2021, I completed the Maternity Reflexology course with Sally Earlam. I now offer dedicated treatments for both prenatal and postnatal care. - Women’s Health
In June 2022, I completed a CPD course in Reflexology for Women's Health with the Reflexology Academy, led by renowned reflexologist Hagar Basis. This intensive training explored how reflexology can support various stages of womanhood — from fertility and pregnancy to menopause and overall hormonal balance. - Hand Reflexology
In 2024, I trained in Hand Reflexology with Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology. Hand reflexology is a beautiful self-care tool, and I love promoting its benefits. I’m currently working towards offering 1:1 and group sessions to teach simple hand reflexology techniques for everyday well-being.
Admittedly, social media isn’t always consistent (life with three children will do that!), but sharing the benefits of hand reflexology — especially for self-care — is one of my goals moving forward.
A Bit More About Me
I’m a mum to three children, and in 2025 we moved to Montgomery, Powys, after 12 years in Bishop’s Castle. While my business is named Shropshire Hills Reflexology, I now offer treatments across the Shropshire/Powys border, as we’re only half a mile from the Shropshire line. I’m still deciding whether to change my business name — the hills remain close to my heart and were the original inspiration for my practice.
Before reflexology, I worked for years as a gardener in Bishop’s Castle, but I had to give it up due to RSI and strain on my hands during the winter months. My background also includes a degree in Development Studies and a Master’s in Sustainable Development Advocacy. I spent several years in London working as a Community Gardener at Culpeper Community Garden and Spitalfields City Farm — a wonderfully diverse, chaotic, and inspiring time that I still look back on fondly.
These experiences, along with my connection to nature, my love of walking in the Shropshire hills, and a genuine passion for helping others, all feed into my reflexology practice today.
